The former chair of Brown Rudnick’s Real Estate Practice in New York, Mark S. Fawer, has financial joined Arent Fox’s Real Estate practice. It is said that his partner Carolyn Austin and associate Brandilyn Y. Dumas have also joined Arent Fox’s Real Estate practice.
These three attorneys have joined Arent Fox’s New York office with regard to focusing on real estate developers, private equity funds, real estate investment trusts, and representation of lenders. They will also employ their focus on financing and development of residential and commercial properties, disposition, and acquisition.
On these new appointments, the leader of Arent Fox’s Real Estate practice Kenneth S. Jacob said that “they are expanding our nationally known real estate finance and transactional capabilities will be the prime focus of our group”. He further adds, Mark and Carolyn are speedily helping us to grow in this area and their technical knowledge on serious and perplexed financial deals is literally asset for borrowers and lenders”.
Previously, Fawer at Brown Rudnick had prime focus on representation of financial institutions, intercreditor, securitized loan pooling, servicing disputes and real estate financing transactions. And recently, he has successfully finalized the restructuring of a $330 million senior loan.
Lastly, Fawer is an advisor of joint ventures and he also deals with buyers and sellers of a variety of real estate debt, including syndicated and securitized interests, whole senior and mezzanine loans, hotel operators and owners in the negotiation of hotel management and franchise agreements, participations, landlords and tenants in commercial space, and ground lease transactions.
